Welcome to another installment of Get to Know a Gamer! This time we get a chance to find out a little bit more about Squeebz's other, more male half, Godliberator. Godlib is a Pro-ranked user on the Minecraft Classic server and has trouble speaking to us for more than 2minutes before having microphone issues. Thankfully, he only needed to type these answer, otherwise this may never have happened. So, without further ado, here's Godlib:
1. So your name is Godliberator, have you been smited by any deities yet? No, but I did get drunk and end up getting into some dangerous shenanigans with Loki..supposedly I may have pissed off a few of the minor deities...but we don't talk about that night.
2. You're married to Squeebz. Just how big are her sandwiches? And does she add anything special on them?
This is not the biggest in size she has made for me, but it is one of the best she has made...and made completely from scratch. It is not the size of the sandwich that counts, it is the size of the pantry. ...and she has a big pantry
3. What sorts of games do you enjoy playing? Largely I am a non-discriminate gamer. If someone comes to me with a game and says, "hey, check this out" I will check it out and probably devote a good amount of time to it. I really enjoy the kind of game that you can get immersed in. I love being able to play a game and because of the excellent storytelling through good writing and game-play, just getting sucked into the story like a good book that you cannot put down. That is always a great way to end a long day.
4. What is your favorite vowel, and why? This is actually a bit of a difficult question, I would have to say, "A". Because I have always thought about it being the sluttiest letter due to what it was always associated to in The Scarlet Letter.....
5. How did you find your way to Team9000? I have leaked this story out on the forums a few times in various threads, but for the most part, I was introduced to Minecraft by an acquaintance on Facebook that made a generic comment to the tune of "playing Minecraft, build build build". I immediately went to Google and discovered MC classic. After going through a couple just crappy non moderated servers, I came across team9000, and as most of us know, we are that higher level that other servers strive to be. After fumbling through the controls, I started talking to some of the other users and just fell in love with the community. I got more active and moved up the ranks through classic, met a lot of genuinely good people here and made some very strong friendships with a lot of you. It is always good when you can find that community where you will always feel comfortable, where you can just sit down with other members and just enjoy video games, and where you can have an unlimited number of laugh out loud moments. I have spent well over a year here and I can honestly tell you I have enjoyed ever minute with all of you.
6. Without somehow getting cut-off or anything, tell us a funny story. I had a feeling something like this would be asked, and I am glad that I was an open door for entertainment during my time spent under the curse. The fact that I never knew when my microphone would cut off and would continue to talk until I heard you guys asking if my microphone died, only made it that much more funny when I came off the time out and it would immediately cut out again....sigh, those were dark days.
All jokes aside, the Yukyduky curse, as it has come to be known, has since been broken with the replacement of my computer. The infamous story that everyone knows about but that nobody has never actually gotten past the first sentence, will never be spoken and has been retired along with the cursed laptop. Only I know the full story, and if you want to know it, you will have to come hear it in person, I am not risking the chance of the curse returning with a vengeance.
7. What other things do you enjoy doing besides playing games and Squeebz? I enjoy firearms and shooting sports, and I am always up for a good conversation. If you are curious, I have recently revived the gun and gun hobbyist thread on the forums, check it out if you get a chance. I do enjoy playing soccer(yea I am American, that is what it is called here), and paintball on occasion. Beyond that, I will always enjoy the taste of a good hand rolled cigar, a good beer, and a good conversation, nothing tops that.
8. What is your most memorable gaming moment? I have far too many to pinpoint one particular one. The times I used to spend when I was just a kid in high-school with my friends created so many, its tough to pick just one. We would organize endurance LAN parties which would last upwards of 72 hours. System linked Halo:combat evolved parties with average of 30 people who by the end of the night will all be good friends. It is really not been about the games that make it memorable though. It has been more about the moments shared between friends while playing the game that you talk about for years. I have had a countless number of those moments over the years and shared quite a few of them with this community, but it is those stories that ten years later will still have you and your friends laughing their asses off.
9. What are some of your favorite movies? In no particular order,
Equilibrium with a pre-batman christian bale
Ice-cube's Friday movies
All of the Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder movies
As well as Gene Wilders performance in Willy Wonka and Young Frankenstein
The original UK version of Death at a Funeral
and Derrick Comedy full length movie Mystery Team. There are plenty more but those are the notable ones.
10. Why is that damn dragon afraid of a sock puppet? You can't really blame him, imagine turning around one day and seeing a face with a tongue staring back at you. Imagine how many times he has bitten himself thinking something is trying to attack him. You should have pity, he is damaged goods.
11. If you had to change your name so it would be an animal for you first name and something that could kill you as your last name, what would your new name be? Hippopotamus Industrial Wood Chipper III
12. Do you think Florida is pissing on Cuba, or is it just a coincidence? Impossible, Cuba starts in Miami.
