The Prostitution Thread - Should Prostitution Be Legal?

I don't want to contribute, but I am pro-prostitution. I can't necessarily say that it's a good thing, but I do think it should be legal.
 
Prostitution is huge economy wise, high class escorts generally make 550-800k a year. If we removed it you would see another economic crisis all around the world.
 
Pro-Prostitution.

It doesn't affect me in anyway and people who do partake in the matter know of the risks and all the nasty diseases which they can catch.
Ever heard of a condom? It may not protect you in some cases but the majority of the time it works.
 
Unfortunately for all you "Noooo not the prostitution" people out there, humans are humans, and humans like sex. Some, well actually a decent number, like it so much they are willing to pay for it. Whether or not you make it legal, prostitution will occur. The difference is, if you don't make it legal, all of it will be unregulated, which is a serious health risk for everyone involved. Very real instances of deprivation of liberty, public health violations, etc, exist today in illegal, unregulated prostitution markets. And why do they still exist? Because lots of people want sex. Basically everyone (not quite accurate I know, but it's close). Your choice is not whether or not to have a sex market, that has already been made, the choice you have in front of you is whether or not you want to protect people by regulating the industry.

Unless, like, anyone has any legitimate arguments that aren't already smacked down by the posts in this thread... I think we're done.
 
I'm against roadside prostitution, and low- or mid-level escorts. There's just so much that can go wrong in those kinds of prostitution. However, High-end escorts and whorehouses are fine by me, provided they are regulated. The guys and gals are much safer and better treated.
